My 2000 V10 Super duty(209k) will drives great, for the most part. Its starting to jump gears once in a while, if I get on it it will hit 4-4.2k RPMS then shift to second. third and fourth all at once. Or if I am needing more power and give it some, it will go from 3rd gear to 2nd, then when I let off. It hesitates for 1-2 seconds and thuds into the next gear and it will shake the truck, what is going on?
You need to get the codes read. If that doesn't explain what is wrong you'll need someone with a scan tool that can look at live data and see what is wrong.
Don't go to an auto parts store. They can't read these codes.
Wow....any other options here? I am not into large sums of money and I just wanna know whats going on. I am a DIY kind of person when it comes to the maintainence of my vehicles.
I had the codes pulled Mark, he said there were no codes at all in the transmission. There were the two codes I already knew about p0174 which has nothing to do with transmission behavior i would think.

Not to hi-jack this thread but if you are a DIY-er Aune163rd you might want to invest in AutoEnginuity with a Ford extended code pack. Expense but it can pay for itselfs in the long run. It will be my next "large tool" (read expense) purchase with a few other OE packs.
