Well I am far from wealthy as well. Your best option would be to make sure your egr cooler is leaking. As I stated before. If it is then its up to you to delete it. If you do the work yourself then you are looking at a 400- 500 dollars in parts. If you hire someone then it wi be more. It has to be fixed if its broken.
ok thank you
and you said to park on a hill and remove egr valve and do what then
Park on a hill nose down. Pull the egr valve and take a flashlight and look into the intake and see if you can see any moisture. Either in the intake or on the egr valve itself.
Just check the intake to see if its wet after parking nose down for a while.
My cooler was failing for a long time, every time I did this test I never saw coolant in the intake though
Trust me I have spent a lot to keep my truck going. Its not something anyone wants to do but unfortunately the 6.0 has a few design flaws that need fixing.
Correct. Look in the hole itself. You may not see standing coolant but if there is any moisture in there, like gummy carbon or anything you have a bad cooler. You could even put the moisture on your tongue and it will taste like coolant.
