Door ajar switches: Can they be revived?
My Ranger is starting to have the intermittent dome/door ajar light problem. The switches are easy enough to replace, but I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck reviving them.
I'm thinking about pulling one out and soaking it in WD40 or electrical contact cleaner to see what happens. Has anyone else tried this sort of thing with any luck?

From the "Tech Info" thread a link to a multi-page thread on this subject https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ome-light.html & yes many Ford owners have had success spritzing the switch plunger with WD-40 & exercising it a few times to work it in & repeat every 6 months or so, as thats easier & Way less expensive than replacing the switch, which is what the Dealer does.
