Assume that the dimmer switch isn't turned all the way till it clicks, i would suspect the switch thats in the door latch. Ususally if it's the door switch the door ajar light on the dash stays on. If the switch is dirty and thats causing the problem i've heard of people spraying wd 40 or contact cleaner on it and fixing the problem.

I use either wd40(which seems to be my universal fix for everything on this truck), or some contact cleaner. I wouldnt advise graphite or lock-ease because for some reason it made my problem worse.

I had the door ajar light problem, and the dome light satying on.
After hearing the wd 40 solution, I srayed the left door lock (as much as possible) with brake clean, and followed with electrical lubricant (CRC I believe).
Had the same problem again after a while.
I sprayed again.
Done deal.
I am guessing, with the cooler weather, I will need to go thriuygh the process again soon.
No big deal.
