Nothing at all wrong with a 390. I've blown away more chevy's with em than any other motor. The chevy guys think they're pickup truck motors and get pissed when they get beat by one.Build it with 10.5 to 1 pistons, a cam with .500-550 lift/ 285-300 degrees duration ( advertised) headers, a Performer RPM, F427, or a Police intercepter intake, 750-780 Holley and you won't be dissapointed
