what does the 6" piece of clothes hanger wire have to say ? (3.5", 3.784", or 3.98")? Measure the stroke and from there you'll have nailed down the likely hood of the status of the crank.. at least the throw will be confirmed
1966 and '67 Thunderbirds only came with a 390 or a 428. But your numbers point to an earlier 390 but it could be a '66 390, but I doubt it as the '66 engines had the smaller intake ports of the "S" manifold. But the 390 was the standard engine (read that as the only engine) from 1961 thru 1965, even though there were some 3X2 versions besides the 4 barrel version.
C3AE-6015-H is spec'd as a 390 service replacement block for the solid lifter 390PI. The H block is a hyd lifter block tho. Heads sound like the C3AE-C and common to the 390. The C4 intake could be original depending on the rest of the date codes. So yes could be late 63/early 64 390. Check the stroke like Bobby mentioned.
Well "about" needs to be a little more defined. 390 cranks will show a 3.78 or roughly 3 3/4" and 410/428 cranks 3.98 or roughly 4". So less than 1/4" difference between the 2. If you can remove the oil pan and simply post the numbers you find on the crank that'll help. If that would be easier. Or if your positive it's 4" that would be a 428/410 crank. IU, IUB, IUA are the 428/410 crank identifiers found on the edge of #7 counterweight. 2U, 2UA, 3U are some of the more common 390 numbers. If it's a early 390 crank it could have a full casting number. Once you measure the block's cyl bore and correctly ID the crank you'll know if you have a 390 or 410 or whatever.
