So I have a 1986 f150 that I've just freshly repainted and dropped that's were I ran into a problem I got the djm 3/5 drop kit the rear flip kit went in fine but when I did the front I beams and dropped the truck on the ground the sway bar is rubbing on the steering linkage has anyone run into this problem if so how did you fix it any help would be appreciated
I have, on my 95. i went Dream beams AND lowering springs. Dont fret, there is a way around it.
First off, unbolt the swaybar for now. no good will come out of driving it this way.
The best way i found to do it is to physically flip the swaybar and use swaybar links off a 1999 Ford F250 super duty truck. sounds crazy, but it's still working after 15,000 miles. havent hit anything yet.
you take the bar off, you flip it upside down (so the left side is now the right) you bolt it on a certain way. you do the hokey pokey. you use the crazy long Super duty links. you then fret about ifthe bar hangs too low (it doesnt, unless you're off roading, i have never hit anything with mine)
i'm going to go look at my truck now so i can tell you the exact mounting.
Na man I probably won't touch it again till this weekend I got the 99 sway bar link tho just couldn't get it to work but when ever you can get to it it's fine thanks
