I was thinking as I was under my truck, "Why do these things require a track bar if they're leaf sprung? Doesn't the leaf keep things aligned laterally? I used to drive, um, Chevy trucks (73-87) and they didn't have a track bar. So what gives? It just seems that between track bar, anti-roll bar, and leaves, there's gotta be some unnecessary binding going on.
I was wondering why they needed one as well, so I pulled it out to see what happens, and it wasnt good, got the death wobble all the time and wondered all over the place, definatly gotta have it.
just think what happens with sharp cornering. the axle may well move a few inches under the truck if there was nothing to hold it from side to side movement.
Hey once again thanks for the info. Crossover steering. Ahhhh. Gotta fab a drop bar for mine because with the 2" levelling kit it's pretty bound up. Thought a good shortcut would be to eliminate it altogether. Good thing I asked.
