I bought a 1997 Explorer in March of this year. The exterior handle on the driver's side occasionally would refuse to open the door, and I'd have to open the back door and reach through to open it, but it only happened occasionally and I chalked it up to minor issues that are bound to happen with a truck this old.
However, a couple of days ago, as I went to get out of the car, the interior handle opened, but did not open the door, now the handle is stuck in the open position, but I cannot get in or out of the car from the driver's side. This is my only vehicle and I need this fixed ASAP!
Can anyone tell me how to a: get the door panel off without the door being open and/or b: fix the handles so they open. I don't think it is the locking mechanism, because I can see and hear the lock moving up/down when I unlock/lock the doors with the button on door or the key fob.
