89 e 150 stalling
I have a 89 E 150, 5.0 stalling after running idle 20 - 25 min. Have replaced fuel pump & relay, tfi, coil without change in symptoms. Could it be the pick up stator in the distributor or a another problem?

Could be that or the EEC Computer.
Both have been known to do that.
When it dies check for spark.
If you have none unplug the SPOUT and if spark returns, if it does it is the computer.
Could also be the fuel pump(s) causing this problem.

After replacing distributor, tfi, coil, idle control, fuel pump, relays, clean egr and throttle body the problem kept recurring. As part of after thought, I remembered that I replaced the dual tank canister on the frame with one from the junk yard to fix a fuel leak problem. This was causing a blockage which stalled the engine. after by pass of canister, no more problem
