Idle Speed Control Bypass Value Problem
Hello: I have a problem, that when my 1990 F150 is driven a few Kms it will not idle or idles erratically. Could this be the ISB Value. I have cleaned it twice. I have also check to see if the EGR value moves. Checked engine codes. Do not want to replace ISB Value because of price! Could I have a fuel pump problem? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Replace it. It's 99.9% likely to be your problem. Just went through this on my SHO and have seen it numerous times on many other Fords of the same era. Cleaning the mechanical portion of the valve sometimes helps, but not always.
Unhook the battery while you're wrenching it so that the computer resets. Once everything is back together, the computer will releardnthe idle control strategy.

Thanks Steve: I did replace the value last weekend and it did not stall today. So it must have been the problem. And yes I did clean it a few times and it still did not work!. I was reading other peoples problems with this same value and it seemed like a common problem.
