fuel or electrical?

What do you think?

82 Ford F150 w/ 351W.....will run and idle fine for a short time and cut off suddenly. It will happen when I'm driving....or sitting in driveway. Happens at different intervals as well. I have replaced coil, distributor, rotor, cap, plug wires.I can usually get it restarted ..could it be fuel related?

Help appreciated!:-X23

Do you have spark immediately after quitting? I had a magnetic pickup go out in my dizzy and it would lose the spark and then come back normal all of a sudden...I kept losing spark for longer intervals until it sat for several hours...then I finally tracked down the faulty pickup...if you get spark, then I would say a problem in the fuel pump or even water in the gas (pretty rare, though). do you have dual tanks? Could be a problem there also, but I would look electrical first, then for intermittent problems with the fuel pump!!

Does it happen on both tanks or just one? I've read some threads where folks are having problems on one tank or the other because of the valving???
