Thanks for the info. Just ordered a pair after too much research!
Any reported issues with Britebox or the on-truck computer like the Jeep folks seemed to be worried about?
Thanks again!!! Looks like a GREAT idea and product.

We have not heard of any issues with fords
the only problem with them has been with the newer dodge canbus system ( but we carry the harness adapter for it )

Dot approved
DOT approved??? Who tested and approved them for our trucks?
Headlights can meet DOT standards and be sold as DOT approved without ever being legal on any vehicle. The problem is that the DOT standard calls for minimum requirements for intensity and pattern, but those requirements are not enough to certify lighting on any particular vehicle. The vehicle has to go through all the testing with those lights in place to be actually legal. In the US any aftermarket exterior lighting is illegal on any vehicle because it is an unauthorized modification to a federally mandated safety system. However, enforcement varies and if the lighting you want to use looks like it belongs there and is not glaring you probably will not have trouble.
Update: Just installed yesterday. Very fast install. Used heat shrink to cover the truck headlight (female) plug to the LED male. On the garage wall, and to my untrained eye, the light was approx 30% brighter than the PIAA Extreme White Pluses (4000K) and quite a bit whiter. On the road, WOW! The first thing I noticed was the glare (bright glare) from every reflective thing in your path. Got stuck in construction traffic last night and the glare off the cars in front was bright, especially light colored and clean cars/trucks. And all the reflective signs at the construction site lit up up like the Vegas strip. We turned the lights on and off a few times just to check if it was really just my headlights doing this and not all the other cars - it wasn't the other cars at all. The light pattern seems good and NO ONE brighted us or turned their rear view to night mode as we pulled up behind them.
There is not much difference between low and high in brightness, however, the peripheral lighting increases markedly, mostly to the right of the vehicle.
Overall, I feel like I can see much further (great throw) and more peripherally with these LEDs. And I got no feedback that anyone was being blinded by these lights (that was a big concern of mine going into this).
I have a leveling kit on an F350 and never readjusted my headlights.
On another note, I have zero affiliation with the manufacturer or seller/distributor, nobody, nada.
I think "fish15" is working to get a 15% discount.

Glad to see you are happy with the light output. Would like to see a video or night pic so I can compare them to my lights.
On their website it says DOT approved. My understanding is in order to be dot approved they need to test that bulb in that headlight assembly, then pass it for it to be dot approved. I seriously doubt that happened. If I were you I'd print that statement in case you ever get a ticket.

We think alike; it's printed and in my glovebox.
I'll try to video with my phone and then try to upload.
Yea 6k are pure white
7k have a bluish look
8k are blue purple
6k give you the brightest natural looking light for you headlights, I'm doing that on my 04 and LED fog light bulbs for some added output
Update: I still haven't been brighted after many months. Still love the lights and would buy again and again. I did video with my phone and have no idea how to upload to the site. Again - I have zero affiliation with the light makers, dealers, distributors, sellers, etc.
Google search, this tread came up. Looking for my 79 f150.
Pretty good eh? Work with a 79? I want a stock look, but bright white LEDs.
That link is dead. If there are ones for my truck, care to hit me with a direct link?
I added plain old halogen driving lights on the center of my grill and aimed them just above my low beams and could not be happier. Look good (to me) and really light up the road. Have them wired on a separate toggle switch. I will get flashed occasionally, but rarely use them in traffic.
It's interesting for sure though, I kinda want to get them and try them but i don't want to spend the money and then hate them and go back to my HID's...although i guess if i got the ones on amazon i could return them withing a few days.
that is my thought, if you buy from amazon, install as soon as you get them, test, take tons of pics etc, then return. i have a feeling they won't light up very much on the road. but im subscribing in case you do decide to buy them to test.
So this thread is a little old, but I have a 2013 f250 6.7L and I recently purchase L.E.D headlight bulbs H13/9008, and it seems the light reflection/refraction is scattered all over the place. I was wondering if anyone has newer f250 body style, and can tell me if they have had success with led light bulbs, and most importantly, which way the low beam l.e.d chip faces and which way the high beam l.e.d. chip faces. Thanks
