cHECK OUT YOUR LOCAL WALMART OR TRACTOR SUPPLY, sorry caps was on most likely they will have the best Price on Rotella T-6 Synthetic, or Delo , A few more dollars goes along way. as Far as Coolant, I run Ford Gold , If you Change to ELC you need to do a real good Flush , drop the Block plugs and change out the Thermostat, well for any flush and also do your last flush and fill with Distilled Water 50/50 mix . In the Tech folders will be a great write up on Flush Procedure. I hope this helps you sorry , the Oil really should be 5w /40

Started my truck this morning and it bog down so i revved it up and it was white smoking
An improperly operating vehicle battery(s) or charging system can cause additional operating loads to the internal components of the FICM module, due to low power supply voltages. Glow plug operation, vehicle accessories and hot and cold temps. can also put additional requirements on the vehicles electrical, battery and charging system. this can result in shortened FICM module component life.
The FICM module contains two major internal components, the main circuit board and the DC-DC converter. the DC-DC converter is the device that amplifies battery voltage to 48 volts (V) to operate the injectors.
The target 48 V output of the DC-DC converter is directly affected by the battery supply voltage.
Think of your Alternator as the King of your 6.0L empire, think of the Batteries as the Queens of your empire. If the Rulers lose power your Kingdom will fail.
Checking Alt. output and battery condition is the first step in a Driveability Issue. After these two components pass the test then we move on to the FICM, If the FIMC passes the test we move on to the injectors and glow plugs, If these two components pass the test we move on to "A CHEVY"!!!!!

but I still dont understand why my FICM could do that. its almost as if my oil cooler is clogged.
They can show low voltage only when the motor is at higher rpm. It's easy to test. If you know you alt is charging and your batteries are good I would definitely check the FICM. After you've ruled it out you can look for other things. The egr system doesn't kick in until your up to temp so maybe that could be an issue. I wouldn't skip steps tho. Check the FICM and let us know what you find.
Injectors would show a miss. Start with load testing batteries and then check FICM. There's a how to in the Tech folder up top
I would start with these , the gauge will show more where to go . the Values for battery, should be in Park
koeo-(key on engine off ) =12.6
low- ( truck Idling no radio, no hvac)=13.3
High- (2500 rpm)= 14.0
Operating Values=10.5/15.5
Cold start with Glo plugs on you will see Voltage drop but once the Alt kicks on to Charge should be around 14/14.5

i figured out what it is... i used my programmer and did the diagnostics test and it said; P0266 cylinder 2 contribution/balance fault.... so i have a bad injector

That would do it. OEM/Motorcraft from AutoNation will fix it.
