Start up trouble

I have a 04 6.0L. When it started turning cold it has really struggled on start ups. It turns over several times before starting, once it starts the idle is real ruff, almost like a gas burner missing. Once it has idle for 5 minutes or so it's o.k. I have heard this is sometimes common with the 6.0's, but I hate the fact that my truck sounds this way. The only mods are cold air and turbo-back exhaust. Oh yeah, it also passes a little blue smoke. Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you had your batteries load tested? Not saying it could cause all your symtoms but it is the place to begin.

it sounds like you have one or more injectors sticking. tsb 6-22-3 refers to a reprogram ans should fix your issue. if not a injector or 2 might have to be replaced.

If it's an early build '04, you should also have the ICP sensor checked out. They fail regularly and can cause similar symptoms.
