Im very interested in doing this as well. Not too sure about which color I want to go with I would like to see the cool white but I prefer the original green myself.

Original green? Originally the trucks had filters to tint the yellowish incandescent light blue-white.
Seems to me that we need a sticky with an array of pics with the various LED colors. 80 pages?
I am interested in the color options as people post them, but I'm going green to match the green/black scheme of the truck's final incarnation. A dark green truck with bright green cluster should look nice.
Does anyone have a picture of what these filters are supposed to look like?
When I go to do this, i'll need to know what to look for.
Has anyone thought of replacing the filters with newer material? I would think that the filters resemble something along the lines of tail light tape. Something opaque that can still let light through. Is there a paint to repaint them to their original blue glory?

Photography gels for portrait flashes. Cheap you can cut them, and they are designed to be lit by light and not ting or discolor.
Check out cowboystudio they have them.
Here you go. For a darker color just layer them.
My '81 always had green dash lights...even though the bulb covers look a little blueish (same with my 70's Mustangs). Is that just me or did some come with blue lights?

I believe it was meant to be a teal or blue is color but with the mix of the yellow light form the bulbs and the older bulbs get the yellower they are along with the older the plastic gets in side the more milky it becomes it just turns green after a while.
But I never owned this year model new. Thats just my logic. Hopefully a from new owner will pop in and let us know.
