Has anyone got an opinion (ohhh boy) on TransferFlow replacement fuel tanks or the equivalent - they have a 46 gal replacement? 29 gal just isn't very much when you're towing any distance. I've thought about in-bed tanks, too. Am I opening a can of warranty worms if I replace the stock tank? I can't think of any reason why it would be bad, but I never know these days. Thoughts?
You can always do the Harpoon mod to increase capacity by 4 to 4.5 gallons. Look thru the tech folder for process. No cost other than time and a tool or two.

I have thought about harpoon mod. I always fill completely up the neck - takes a while, but I get another 4-5 gal that way. Does the harpoon mod add anything more than this, or is it just a faster way to get that extra?
Wrong end of the country to be much help, but I had a 55-gallon replacement tank put in my '05 250 SD PSD ... referred by the Ford dealer to the company that installed the tank. 55's a lot better than 29. Especially with a 30-foot fiver in tow. And it doesn't affect the warranty.
I have a tank issue with my new F350 stroker. Seems I am too impatient filling, or have the smaller tank. (window sticker says it is a 38 gallon tank) Read about harpooning the tank. Any concerns about dirt/fuel contamination? I hate to have to cut into a 3500 mile truck. I haven't healed up yet from the purchase wound. I don't want to drop another $500-$1,000 on something that isn't right form the get go. I also don't want to screw something up in the fuel system that my local dealer will blame the mod for.

It just lets you fill up quicker vs. standing at the pump nursing the thing . . .

No issues with contamination. All you are doing is unscrewing the top access cap and trimming the filler & vent tubes to allow faster escape of the air as it fills. When done you just screw the cap back on. The cap does hold the fuel sending guage but it is all self contained.
I may unbolt my fifth wheel hitch and see what I can see from the hole in my bed. Maybe I can cheat a bit on the process and not have to pull the tank.
U can try but I doubt it from others feedback. The cap is in front of the fill/vent fuel tubes which puts it in the front left corner of the bed area. One guy mentioned taking out the bed bolts, disconnecting the two electrical plugs, and using a lift/cherry picker to raise the bed so he could access the area w/o dropping the tank.
