Are you putting your foot on the brake? My mom did that along time ago when my dad first got our old 96 f250 and she didn't know that she had to put your foot on he brake
check your fuses ... theres a fuse that protects both the brake lights and the auto trans interlock ( if i remember correctly) . when it blows, you have no brake lights and cant get it out of park.
Yes i pressed on the brakes but all check fuse tomorrow, all be back here soon just put on new right mirror yesterday tore it off in the bush deer season 45 minute job cost for part 57.00 delivered. Thanks For the help. Yoop
Just wanted to say that you can get around that shift interlock, there's a built-in override so you can drive it til you get it fixed.
Put your key in and go 1 click forward (towards run but not all the way there)... now shift to neutral and you'll be able to start the truck. Just remember if you put it in park again you'll have to repeat the procedure.
It is the shift lock that has gone bad so ordered one today that will fix it i hope. Checked for brake lights today and didnt have any so that is tiedinto the problem. Thanks Yoop
