Has anyone installed the AFE Scorcher Module on their ecoboost? From what I have read they claim 47 horsepower and 57 lb-ft of torque. Basically it is a plug and play module that does not show a footprint on the ECU...and it supposedly gains boost dramatically faster by increasing boost by 2 psi throughout the map range.

I was thinking this would be a great alternative to buying a 5 Star tuner right now especially since this is a lot cheaper at only $224.
Truck feels like it runs fine. Definitely more power, but around here driving stop light to stop light it barely averages 14. And since texas speed limits are 70-85 I'm usually doing 75-80 and my mileage stays around 15.
Now don't get me wrong, as long as this thing isn't doing any harm then it works just the way its intended to. And really if you're worried about mileage it'll unplug in 5 minutes for a long drive.
This is not a tuner. It plugs into the engine harness and sends false signals to fool the engine controller into doing things that it wouldn't normally do. The risk of these type of devices is the engine controller doesn't really know what's going on because it's not getting the real engine data, so factory protection features may not kick in when they need to kick in.
Tricking the engine into doing things is not wise, especially in a boosted application. Use a real tuner so it maintains all the wonderful diagnostics and protection that Ford built into the engine controller.

+1.
Hell NO would I ever let something like this within 30 feet of my truck. This is the kind of product 16-year-olds buy on eBay for $15 and use to gain an extra few horsepower in their Civic. And they think they're great until they blow up their engine.
STAY AWAY from this trash. If you want more power you need a PCM tune that can properly run the engine, not some cheap box designed to trick your PCM into seeing false data.
