I was driving up a hill the other day, giving it a bit of gas, and when I let off the engine just died. It cranks fine but no start.
I hooked up the computer and get the below graphs. Notice in the first graph that I get nothing for "Fuel Rail Pressure". Not low but missing. The fuel pump is working and there is fuel pressure.
Second, I notice that "FICM Sync" is zero and "CMP/CKP Sync" value is missing.
In this graph you can see that the icp pressure is 13 MPa(1885 psi). Again the ficm sync is zero. The voltage for the ficmmpwr is 48.5 but the low power is only 10v.
The thing cranks great and the batteries are strong.
Should I be concerned that the ficm voltages are 10V even though the high voltage is 48.5V? Should I be concerned that I can't get sync? Is the fact that I can't get any reading on FRP, CMP, or CMP/CKP sync?
I replaced the Camshaft Position Sensor and that didn't help.
I would keep a battery charger on it and don't get carried away cranking on it, make sure to let the batteries fully charge and give the starter a break between attempts. What year of truck are we talking about here? If I had to venture a guess I would say the IPR or HPOP died. Have you pulled the ICP connector and checked for the presence of oil?
Doh, I didn't mention that it is a 2005 Excursion 6.0L Powerstroke.
I haven't pulled the ICP connector. I will do that this evening and check. So should the Engine.ICP (2MPa) be the same as the Engine.ICP_DES (desired/commanded icp) at 13MPa?

It would be better to do them in psi then mPa. You need at least 500 psi to start.
So, the actual icp filtered MPa is 1.742 which is 251 psi. Well short of the 500 required. Does that mean HPOP or could a bad IPR case that too?
Yepper time for an air test. Could be dummy plugs too. Is your ICP on the passenger side valve cover? If so it has the standpipes and dummy plugs that can have failed orings

the ICP is on the passenger site valve cover. If the IPR is stuck open, will I be able to tell that with the air test?
Sounds like I'm going to get dirty tonight. Fortunately the temperature is supposed to get up to 36 degrees this afternoon. Why doesn't this ever happen in the spring or fall?
