Steel Running Boards

I think that I need to buy myself a Christmas present. (the only way to really get what you want) I want to get new steel, ribbed running boards. Who makes the best ones? I was thinking Carpenter, but they are a little pricey, however the budget got blown long ago so I guess that price is not the main issue, just want nice, no problem running boards.

I bought some from Sac Vintage Ford, they were made in Canada and excellent quality.

Hey Chuck,
We picked up our steel running boards from Midwest Early Ford.
They were pricier than fiberglass but I was concerned about stepping on fiberglass. $500/pair.

We treated our's with a bedliner product as I didn't want to worry about scratching paint, etc.

Good luck over there! We broke the bank a long time ago as well.

Thanks for the information guys. The price of steel boards seems to be running in the 500-650 range and that everyone seems to be happy with the 500-550 ones so there is no need to spend extra money. I guess that I need to shop freight rates and get a set ordered. Merry Christmas to ME.

I'm amazed by how many vendors there are out there for parts for these old trucks. I've been on here a couple months now and it seems like everyday someone posts information about a vendor that I've never heard of before. I have now started a document where I'm saving all of the vendors names and websites so I don't have to try and remember where to look for parts.

There are good ones and bad ones. I bought a cheap set and they're not all that nice. The first set were stamped poorly. The ridges weren't well defined.

You can see very little definition at "A". Between "B" and "C" the ridge rolls all the way into the side. The vender replaced that set. With 3x shipping, I'm sure they lost money on me.

Both sets were poorly assembled. The arc where they fit around the cab isn't 90 degrees. I decided to live with that. It's going to be for go, not for show.

But it doesn't mean I like it.

I've never been to AZ so I don't know if Prescott is close to Golden Valley, the home of Mid Fifty. It might be worth the drive, not to mention a lot of fun, to pick up a set of running boards and whatever else your budget allows.

Haven't heard about Rock Valley Antique previously. May want to solicit input from Chris56 and JeffandNicolle who are in that part of the world. They may actually be producing the running boards.
