Hi im trying to install HID headlights into my 03 for excursion yes they are going into a projector which is not the problem... my problem is there is 2 wires coming from my ballasts and at my headlight harness on the truck there are 3 wires... does anyone know which of the 3 wires are my positive at the switch and the ground ?
A meter or test light will be the best way to figure out what you have, I'm sure someone may be able to tell you colors......but checking yourself is the best way to find out for sure what you have
The factory harness will have a ground, positive for low beam and positive for high beam. Do you have Bi Xenon HID's or low beam only. Either way I recommend using a relay harness so the ballest gets direct power from the battery and only uses the factory harness for switching.
So I got them installed yes I did use a relay harness with it for a power and they are just low beams and fogs... so I got the foglights installed and they worked fine for the first few tries and all of a sudden they didnt work but I noticed on the dash a faint hi beem signal on the dash turn on very dim when ever I turned on the fog lights has anyone had this problem before the fog lights worked fine and all the wiring connectors are put in correctly
