ALL ABOARD. lord knows i belong on here. This entire things falls right in line with some of my other issues.
The deep groove on these balancers is not 0. its just a mark. would be a GREAT place to put the timing marks but those are actually extremely faint and ill be damn about 180 degrees away from the deep groove. so yeah I am dead on. i need better lights in my garage ... that's my excuse for this one

Yea thought you where talking about the little grove at TDC should have know you where talking about the big deep grove.
That grove is for a magnetic pickup for a Sun machine, it's pickup pops into a little bracket, has small hole, senses that grove as it goes by the pickup.
The grove it was some degrees off actual top dead center prevent interfering with markings for timing light, the amount off set as I understand it varied some by each manufacture.
