Does Anyone make a good CPS

Have a Black CPS in right now but want to have a good spare. BW gave me a lot of trouble. Grey MotorCraft I hear has issues too. Can't say I have read about any that did not have an issue of some kind. There has got to be one out there that is good.?

I myself haven't seen much about problems with the grey CPS since, well, about the time vendors ran out of black ones.........................

Why is it Ford has two sensors on their F150's (crank & cam) and they seem to last better than the ones on 7.3's? I'm not sure I understand all that is going on here. Maybe I just haven't heard of the issues with those on the F150's.

Everyone is giving the grey one a bad rep. Do yourself a favor and just go get one. They arent that bad. I have both an OEM Black and Grey and there is minimal difference between the two for every day driving.

I run a grey also for the last couple years- Noticed a very slight difference at idle when I first installed it, but it runs out great & mileage is still the same.

Grey one is bad on my truck 1999 7.3, windshield wipers starting and stopping will kill my engine, black or dark blue works best for me, black is best but hard to find.

I still have the original OEM grey CPS in my truck. Zero issues. I never understood the issue with the grey CPS. Cylinder rotation?

I am sure I am jynxing myself here but..... I have no idea what color the CPS is in my truck. I assume it was the stock CPS when I bought it 3 years ago, because I took it in to the dealer for a tranny flush about 2+ years ago and they did the recalls and changed it. I then read all the hubub on here, and went and bought one for a spare. I have no idea what color it is, Im not even sure I know where it is because Ive never needed it. My truck has run fine for 60k. What am I missing here? Is it possible that my truck would run a lot better with a different CPS?

Unless you are experiencing anything specific I wouldn't mess with it. Just grab one and put it in your glove compartment as a spare $15.00=peace of mind.

I just switched my grey one out for another grey one. I had my black one stolen from Ford when I went in for cruise control recall My truck stalled a few times at drive through a so I switched it. No more stalling.

Bet there are mechs that check and do the recalls and pocket the good ones for themselves! LOL
