Where the Plug at?

I cannot seem to find it on my 2006. I know where it was at on my 7.3 it was by the left front tow hook. Its cold and I don't want to keep starting it without it being plugged in much longer.

All our trucks come with the block heater installed. I don't think they all came with the power cord. If yours did then it comes out of the engine on the passenger side at the starter and block drain plug. Then it routes along the frame rail up to the front bumper.

If you don't have one they can be bought from Ford, online or from an International dealer. I replaced mine and I don't have the info to hand right now. It was readily available locally from International and not too expensive if I recall.

Do a search on here and find the part #.

It should only take a second to see if it there or not. I think my cord has an orange boot where it goes into the element, but it is definitely visible looking up from underneath.

I found mine between the tow hook and fog lamp with damn near zero play. the head can just be pulled enough so the prongs stick out. It had a cap on the prongs too, thats what I held on to plug it in the one time just to see if it worked.

Good luck
!

Mine didn't come with one, I ended up buying it later. I think I paid $36 back in 2006.

Mine has one, but for some reason it's got the 3 pin flat connector instead of the normal 110 connector. I've never seen a vehicle with the one I have. Thinking I may just need to buy the cord.

The cord is 2 pieces. In my second pic that flat connector usually pins into the hole just above the frame sticker.

I removed that push pin so the cord could hang out of the grille opeing more.

I think it was in 05 when Ford quit installing the cord as standard equipment. I think they were only standard in extreme cold areas. My 05 didn't have one when purchased new. Had to buy a cord from Ford and install. Then found out that I could have bought it from IH and saved some money...
