Help me with a minor cable replacement, ALT already swapped

Ok, I just don't wanna screw this up. It appears my alternator was already swapped at one point. I have an 89 f250 with a 351.

Truck is a plow truck and started acting up and showing 8-9 volts on the meter. Finally quit. Took it to the parts store, alternator tests bad. I order a new 100 amp alternator. Take it out and the connectors are different. Not only that the 4ga cable is corroded and snapped off, likely my whole problem.
Here is the alternator that is on my truck.

It appears to be a 130 amp 3G but I am NO expert? Also before I go taking apart the harness what am I gonna find?

Here is a pick of the wires coming from the alternator going to the solenoid and a little plug in connector.

Any help would be appreciated! I need this truck up and going again fast.

Thanks,

Z

Need to see the front to tell its amperage.
Four holes inside the three pair of webs =95A
Two holes between the three pair of webs =130A

It seems all you need is a new charge cable.
What harness do you need to take apart?

I see what your saying. The charge cable goes into some loom and I was afraid there was some splicing. I see that it should be just the new charge cable. That's awesome! So I assume no voltage regulator means it had been swapped in the past?

Thanks!

Voltage regulator is on the back of the alternator, the gray connector showing in your first picture, what its plugged into thats the VR.

Yea replace the cable end, solder a new one on or replace the cable as a whole.

Clean those connections shown in second shot, wire brush that rust off the posts and all cable ends until see clean copper.

K, cool. If I can't find a mega fuse do I need to fit something there.

It might be safer, but obviously it hasn't been a problem so far.
Having the yellow/white regulator wire loop to the output stud of the alternator would protect against 'full fielding' in a situation like this.

If I were to have to replace this alternator does anyone know which model vehicles it came in so I could easily source a replacement at the parts store?

Show a picture of it from the front.
There are two different outputs and two different body sizes.
