First time posting over here, I have a friends 2005 F-150 5.4L 24V, just cranks and cranks but wont start. Plugged a scanner in and ran the Key On Engine off Self test, and it said the fuel driver module was off line.
Checked the Inertia switch and the button was up on it, my question is, is the button suppose to be up on them? I was under the impression that they stayed seated, and when they were tripped they popped up. I tried pushing it down and it just comes right back up. I even held it down and tried cranking it, and still nothing. Defiantly seems like a fuel delivery issue. I want to be sure before I go off changing parts. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
Lower the spare tire and check the fuel pump module on the back axle. There is a known issue with the module failing especially in climates where it snows and salt is used on the roads. Link to another thread with pictures of module.
