hello guys I'm working on one of my buddies 7.3 f250 and there is a constant fuel leak coming from what it looks like the overflow pipe from the top fuel filter housing, at the fuel filter housing, there is a small rubber hose that is connected to a metal line well, that line is what is leaking, could it be a clogged filter? any ideas? thanks
The o-rings in the fuel bowl drain valve are a known point of failure, but they're easy to replace. You *might* be able to (temporarily) stop the leak by tightening the 4 torx screws that hold the drain valve assembly to the bowl a little bit. The new o-rings are about 8-10 bucks from most places, or $42 at a Ford dealer . . .
About to rebuild my fuel bowl with all new everything on Saturday. I discovered my drain valve leaking last weekend when I calculated my MPGs from a full tank to 3/4 were 8.5. I'm a do it once type of person, so it's getting all new everything except the water in fuel sensor/heater connector as Bob is out of stock.
