leak

what cause fuel to leak out from the fuel filter, bottom side. Im not to familiar with diesels and how they are designed. It looks like there is a fuel relief line that comes from the filter housing. what would make the fuel drain out like that after driving my truck. I have a 2000 F250 7.3 in anyone has any ideas, please share
