Sounds great! Patriot headers are 2 1/2 collector size so I'm 2 1/2 all the way back over the axle with an h pipe over the transmission tail shaft. Maybe I can record a video this week let me see... Ill check and see how long my steel packs are. They are cylindrical straight through mufflers like a cherry bomb. Just a bit higher quality
it doesn't snap crackle and pop if that's what your asking...
i wish it "rapped" a little bit more, like my 68 Chrysler. that had a 383 with a 2 inch exhaust no crossover and 16 inch glass packs. but, that is a low-rider and this is more performance oriented so i built the exhaust with that in mind. it has a very FE sound above 4000 when I'm on it.
i may at some point change it after the axle, right now it is 45* back and 45* out the side with 2.5. the change would be 2.25 inch pipe after the axle and run it to right before the rear bumper. some time soon im going to weld in a hitch receiver so i didn"t want to have the exhaust in the way for that.
all in all no real complaints, my drag racing buddy says it sounds great higher up in the rpm range but ive never heard it from the outside so i can only take his word for it
Very cool. I was wondering about the popping when backing off. I don't like that sound for a high performance build. It reminds me of the old water pipe duals that guys ran. I prefer deep and throaty. That big block sound. I'm curious to try something like the Porters.
