Computer?? Again?!?!
Just got a new PCM for my 99 F350 everything has been fine and dandy until today. Let it warm up for about 15 minutes, it was plugeed in, since it is -5 here today. Got a few blocks down the road and the truck shut off out of nowhere. Won't start acts like the computer is froze up. This exact thing happens if I'm programming the truck with my edge chip and it unplugs. When this happens I call them and they send me a stock writer however, this time they say it cant be the chip since I was driving and they cant help me basically. Any suggestions? Or another new PCM? Thanks!

Do you have power to the PCM? Do you still have a fuel bowl heater and is it hooked up?
If you still have a fuel bowl heater and it is hooked up check fuse 30 in the iin cab fuse box. If it is blown unplug the fuel bowl heater on the back of the fuse box and replace the fuse.

My chip comes on and says no communication to with the pcm and gives an error. Not sure if I still have power to it or anything. I'm at work now had to tow it back to the house and leave the tests for tonight. If I Do anything tonight being that its only getting windier and colder right now. I will start with checking power to the pcm though

Given the extreme cold, it could also be a "sticky" PCM power relay. Under-hood box (I believe for a '99):
It's the top one in the row on the right.
Also, the IDM relay is the third one down.
The washer pump relay is the fourth one down, so use it to swap into the other positions to test.

The fuse for the fuel bowl heater/PCM is the bottom one, second column from the right, on the under-dash fuse box. 30 amp fuse. I believe the ONLY 30 amp fuse in there. If it is blown, unplug the fuel bowl heater (White plug at the back/bottom of the fuel bowl), then replace the fuse and try again.
