need some serious advice

heres the problem. 2005 f350 dually egr delete and new oil cooler installed about a year ago along with new radiator. today i walk outside there is a puddle of coolant under my truck dripping down the back of the block. its been sitting a couple of days. so i popped the hood and i can see a trail of coolant in the valley of the engine starting from the front and running towards the rear. i have been having a problem keeping the coolant at a steady level. so im checking everything out im looking at the egr coolant bypass hose and its good. then i see coolant around the front of the oil cooler in the valley. and the head gasket on the passenger side looks damp towards the front. i pulled egr cooler and it is damp at the bottom. so then i checked oil and sure enough its milky.so i have coolant in my oil. im leaking from somewhere on top of the engine. i cant keep my degas bottle full. my ect runs about 200. eot about 290. it runs fine. it has been real cold lately. is there a freeze plug somewhere? head gaskets? messed up oil cooler? any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you

You say you have EGR delete and then say you pulled the EGR cooler. Which is it?

If indeed it isn't the OEM orange/Blue EGR coolant hose that's leaking or it isn't a delete bypass hose leaking and you have coolant in the oil I would suspect the oil cooler ruptured.

Is that really true 200 ECT and 290 EOT?

Maybe pulled EGR valve and it was damp?

But with no cooler, that's weird.

Where's the OP for clarification?

and the delete is the sinister delete. and even if the oil cooler did rupture internally i dont think it would be able to seap out of the oil cooler gasket. unless someone has seen this before

Just happened a month or so ago with a Dorman oil cooler.

200 ECT and 190 EOT is extremely unusual at running temps.

Agreed

Well when they reverse like that that Suggests HeadGasket Fail

But you should cold soak that truck and recheck temps

and i thought head gaskets but then i would have puking in degas and possibly white smoke. not so much as the coolant leaking by the rings into the crankcase. any help would be appreciated.

Yes don't run it its Done

Just turn the key to check temps cold so we can sensors read OK DO NOT START IT

Im thinking it Mixed because of a BAD Oil Cooler housing gasket and right there at the front is where BOTH OIL and Coolant Pass

Really sounding like you got a Dorman oil cooler

do you know anything about the Oil Cooler???Mainly the brand

No No you DO NOT want to run it with coolant in the oil...

Could cause irreparable damage or long term wear damage...

Could the oil cooler COVER be loose or cracked? That might explain external and internal coolant leakage.

Wetness on EGR valve with the delete would make it seem like there's coolant getting into the intake manifold, it's also getting into the oil, and leaking externally. Maybe more than one issue unless moisture from crankcase is getting drawn out through the CCV and into the intake. Just thinking out loud here. Could the truck have frozen up from the low temps?

It may or may not Puke depends how bad

Theres Too much Pressure in the cylinders to really let coolant into the cylinders when Running to cause smoke Now it can leak when the trucks Off and SMoke at Startup for a few minutes but would Burn off

I just suspect the Oil Cooler Housing Gasket or RUSTY brought up a Good Point about cracked cover If that housing gasket leaks then it could Mix Fluids there Since BOTH Oil & Coolant enter the Housing @ the Front By the LPO Test port

Hows the Oil Filter Look???? Oil and White Crap on it??
