i hooked up my scan guage and all sensors were reading correctly as far as eot and ect goes. it did get real cold last weekend for south texas but im not sure it was cold enough to cause anything. the only thing i can think of is cracked head busted oil cooler. and ive read about there being a freeze plug in the heads. i just cant find anything out
I think one of the guys have asked this, but never seen the Answer. Do you have a blue EGR cooler hose or Orange in the Valley? the Blue one is upgraded late 04
Just my two cents here but he may be suffering from 2 issues. On the passenger side front of the intake manifold there is a donut gasket that seals the intake to the timing cover/waterpump housing. I had this gasket leak and it went straight down the passenger side head under the egr cooler. Although unlikely but if this truck ever got hot due to the coolant leak the new cooler may have suffered a small crack. All in all I agree the first thing I would do is do a pressure check of the coolant system.
