I am assuming that Ford engine colors followed a similar color scheme regardless of what the engine was in. I know that a 1966 Mustang 289 or I6 would have been corporate ford blue (duplicolor 1606 aka "dark ford blue") in 1966. Would the same be true of a 352 in my 1966 F250? The reason I ask is that in searching images on the net I see a lighter blue on many of the truck engines. What would be the correct color for a 352 in 1966?
Confirmed what I thought. Thanks guys! Now the chore of getting things painted in the engine bay. Don't really have the gear to pull the engine and do it right, so plan to do as much as I can with the engine in. Can at least get the intake, water pump and valve covers.

Many years ago I had the Original Ford Blue formulated in PPG Global
A pretty much exact match. I think I also have some in DCC
Not sure if I still have the formula card or not. It was something I paid to have done and would be willing to share if you want exact match.
Seeing as though you are not that far from me . . .

If you want to pull engine and do it "right" I may be able to help you out.
That's a nice looking engine Boss9. Is that the 482? Also see you've got a thing for 65/66 Ford trucks!!
I picked up some Duplicolor 1606 but have not sprayed anything yet. Looks pretty close - perhaps close enough - based on the cap. I know that pulling the engine would be the best way to go. I see you are in WA - you recently relocate to the valley in AZ?
The PPG code for the corporate blue is DAR 13358 for an acrylic and DDL 13358 for a lacquer. Google it and you will get a couple of hits on it. That's if you are using a spray gun. The 1606 is a good choice in a rattle can.

The 482 is in the '66. Pic above is a 390 in my '70 Ranger
Got the engine bay all stripped today. Took out the radiator, all the front accessories (PS, Alt, AC), plug wires, carb and removed all the wiring (much of that to be rerouted and cleaned up). Starting to work on cleaning the intake, cylinder heads, water-pump, etc.. With all that removed we have easy access to the fender aprons and a good part of the engine. Getting the sides of the block and the oil pan is going to be very tough. Will get as much as we can. Won't be able to see most of that with from the top anyway. Would like to do the oil pan, but don't see how without pulling the engine. That big cross member housing the engine mounts blocks a lot of the access. The oil pan seems to be black and in decent shape so maybe that;s good enough until one day we can pull the engine. At that point we would likely be looking to make upgrades to the engine as well. Got some nice original "Power By Ford" valve covers and already have those painted up in corporate Ford blue.
I have an 88 460 block and it has a rather clunky dual belt serpentine system. I don't really like the heavy brackets, but can't really afford a nicer set up right now. Will probably just clean up the existing brackets, give them a coat of silver and go with that for now.
Well, we spent all day getting ready to paint the engine and then finally got some color on just before the sun went down. We'll strip everything off tomorrow and see how we did Already got the firewall and the tops of the fenders painted back to original body color. Next is the aprons and radiator support in semi-flat black. Oh, that then put the engine back together
My son and I got the engine bay all finished today. Below are some before and after photos. It doesn't have the original 352 but we painted the 460 to the correct color for 66 and did lots of other improvements on the wiring, AC hoses and many other little things. We used the little space behind the battery tray to hide all the relays for the distributor, headlights and fog lights. Quite a transformation!

Looking great!
The 429-460 is a great engine to put in these trucks . .
