After cleaning off several pounds of oily crud from the 352 in my 1965 F100 I discovered that the engine was painted gold! Is this the original color? I thought that it would be "Ford Blue". Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
My engine is a black, with blue valve covers. I need to degrease the block to be sure about the color there, but the valve covers are definitly blue on mine. It's a '66 352.
hey guys...just new to the boards...I'm curious about this as well, I have a 65 352 with the valve covers blue, and a black oil bath.....now, I just rebuilt the carb, and I had to change out my studs, and when I pulled them, there was blue paint down below
So, is this the right colors for the 65????
According to one of the publications I read (Motorbooks Int'l was the publisher ... the author escapes me at the moment), the color for the '65 352 was indeed gold valve covers and everything else was black. For what it's worth, I remember my aunt's 352-equipped '65 LTD and that was the color scheme on that engine as well. I can't comment on the '66's because I don't know.
