Ok first post here in need of help! I have a 1976 ford f250 with a 460 hei distributor it will start fine when cold but once it warms up it starts to miss and sputter then die. And I am unable to start up until engine is cold again..
I had a coil go bad in June too. I never had one failing before like that but it did and performance declined in a bad way until I replaced it 1200 miles from home in a BAD spot side of town Dallas Texas!
Is it actually a TFI distributor with the module on the side or the distributor with the dreaded separate aluminum box on the fender well? Both have heat related failure problems with the separate box being the worst of the two. But with that said, it can be more inexpensively fixed. If it's that one, I can post the repair diagram and parts list.
