Knocking
Hello All
I have a 98 f150 supercab with a 4.6 145,000 km im worried that i might have engine damage it only happend twice so far when i start the truck when sits a day or so i get a loud knocking sound coming for the engine it sound like it coming from the bottom end sound like its spund a bearing but it goes away when it warms up i took it to ford and you can guess what they said that we cant find anything wrong with it so i asked them if they have any record of anyone else with the same problem and they said no they havent so im asking if anyone out there if they have heard from your freinds if they have had the same problem thank you BigBruicer

I always get the oil changed at the same place. See im the second owner of this f150 and i have not heard it before as far as oil filter they use only AC Delco Brands so maybe i will try someone else to see if its a filter problem Thanks again BigBruicer.

another thing about the filter is it might be flawed. The first oil filter that was put on my truck after the new motor was put in wound up being broken. The valve inside was stuck open so all the oil would drain out after shutting off the motor. You could hear a pretty distinct knocking for about the first 5 seconds of starting the truck. It would take a while to get the oil pressure back up since there was no oil in the motor.
