Slight Knocking sound.
The other day I noticed a slight knocking sound coming from somewhere right around the engine. I can only hear it in the cab. And it only comes around when I have the gas pedal in a certain position. About half way. Right before I shift the sound comes around. Any less or any more the sounds disappears. I have no tach so I shift from 3rd into 4th at 35 mph and visa versa, but when I'm down shifting, it does not make the noise, but the engine is going the same speed at that point. It almost sounds like its out of oil, but its not, and I have good oil pressure. And you can't hear it when you have the hood up standing at the engine. I don't know if it's a wrist pin, rod, or lifter or something, but does anyone have any ideas?

It almost sounds like a rod bearing the way you discribe it, although I don't think it would go away at higher RPMs. I had a 360 that did this, and you could still hear it as the engine speed picked up, but with wind, general engine and other noise it was hard to hear. If you don't have a dammaged crank, it is a fairly easy fix.

I was hoping it would be something like that. This motor only has 20k on it and it the noise just started two days ago, so nothing should be damaged. But I had my dad drive it today, and I sat in the passenger seat, and I noticed it's a lot louder on the driver side. It's almost like the noise is in front of you, and you can hear it coming from that direction if you're in the passenger seat.
