Ok! Guys! Here I go...We just pulled my 352/360 block from my '65 SWB,1/2 ton pick'em up truck. The block has a cracked water jacket. This block also has four motor mount holes, 2 large ones( approx. 5" on center) and 2 small ones (approx. 3" on center). My replacement block has only the 2 smaller bolt holes. My question is : what motor mounts/ hardware will allow me to
mount this early FE block in my '65 P/U,originally designed to accept the larger mounts/hardware ? Will this smaller mount allow us to use the stock exhaust manifolds? Any advice will be muchly appreciated.
Putt,Thanks for the assist...I'm thinking the guys are confusing 2 and 4 bolt motor mounts.....these post '65-66 blocks have 4 bolt holes on each side. However, only 2 of these four holes per side have the 'raised',if you will, bolt boss. Thereby making each block manufactured to use only the bolt holes with raised boss, with the machined flat service. This individual with
a mount/bracket with four holes is most likely built by some private individual.
I'm looking at some different car motor mounts to resolve my mounting issue.
Everyone is telling me this cannot be done without modification. But,I'm the kind of guy that needs to know if this car block can mount in my F100 using car mounts...Hopefully I'll update later with the correct mount to use.
