Engine Mounts on a 64 2 Ton
I was at the Junk Yard the other day and found a 64 2 ton truck. I raised the hood expecting to see a 292 Y block or a inliner and to my surprise there sat an FE. This engine uses the center front “steady rest” mount in the front and the bell housing mount in the rear. Transmission was already gone but the bell is there. I looked at the side of the block and the regular motor mount holes were there (4). This truck looked to be original and for sure this FE motor has been where it is for a very long time. So my question is, would this mount setup work for installing a FE motor in a Uni or pre I-beam truck? Shoot me the questions! I plan to go back and look again soon.
