Hey guys, new to this early bronco section and Little bronco all together.
I always wanted one and found out tonging my neighbor has on in his barn.
He is thinking about selling it.
76 302 4 speed western snow plow.
Copper/brown color with off white stripes and top.
Looks Just like one in photo but covered in dust and bed sheets.
Kinda in cluttered barn so I could look over every square inch but it looks nice from what I could see. I am used to these things being rotten to CRAP
Worth every penny he asks for it!
They are hard to find in good shape. Fiberglass body and replacement parts are available but I know you're a purist.
The 76 and 77 is the best one. Had disk brakes, d44, and the better transfercase. Oh, and electric wipers. And power brakes (I think that was an option on earlier ones also though)
I really miss mine (it's a 4x4 mustang now)
The plow isn't worth anything to me, unless it was perfect I'd sell it or scrap it.
The chassis is most important. Mine had a rear tank skid plate, and rotted the rear frame, so check that out.
I have no place to put it, and too many projects for the space I rent, or else I'd hound you for the location.
They are fun rigs.
I haven't looked at prices lately. I paid $6K for mine 10 years ago. It was solid but had the rear fenders cut out (common to fit larger tires) and almost 200K miles.
Was the 4 speed original? I'm thinking 3 spds and autos were the only options, although I'm not sure they didn't offer a 4 spd by the end. I do think 4spd swaps were pretty common era improvements though.

It must be a 3 speed then. it is all original, I just saw a shifter thru the floor
Really need pictures of the actual Bronco. It's an Explorer with one year only stripe package. Originally came with either C4 automatic or 3 speed manual. Either one could have been converted to floor shifter. I bought this one for $4000, 58,000 original miles.
After thinking, I believe what you saw was the transfer case shifter. A common mistake for people not familiar with early Bronco's.

Yours is JUNK compared to the one I am looking at. It looks JUST as nice as the one in my pic.
Nothing wrong with an auto Brad... Haven't you ever wanted to jump in a vehicle and let it do the shifting for you. LoL
I bet with a rebuild and some mods, you'll be able to manage with an auto.
Transfer case shifter is a little longer than needed. But has this flattened out **** vs a round shift ****.
It will be the heavier duty "pan fill" c4 trans. The bellhousing bolts to the front of the case and not the front pump like most car c4 bells do. (Some Midsize cars with sbf and trucks had this, and the 351m had a c4 behind it in some)

This thing is SO nice and UNMOLESTED I would not want to change ANYTHING.
Also. I am amazed by the lack of activity in this forum
I don't have a place for it either, But I would find one, and QUICK
I just don't know if I should offer him 3k, 6k, 10, 15, 20k?
Depends on how good of a deal you want...
If you want to rip him off... offer 3k
If you want a screamin' deal... offer 6k
Without seeing it, I'd say it's worth 10-15k depending on how much rust it has (unless it's been fully restored or shrink wrapped for the last 35 years, it will have rust). Fully restored EBs go for 20k and up.

I didn't complete my thought there... I meant to add that the transfer case shifter is long enough to look like a trans shifter.
Yeah, I can appreciate a nice stock bronco just as much as a nicely modded bronco. They are cool rigs either way.
I'd offer him 3k and see how bad he cusses at you and insults you, then go up from there. He may not even flinch and ask for 5k. Who knows. But unless he's the kinda guy to take a lowball offer as insult and won't deal with you afterwards, I'd say offer low and work up.
If it's as nice as you say, running and driving it may be worth $10-$12k. Then add in the price of the snowplow. Just look very carefully for rust. I sold my "junk" for $7k in 2010. It sold again this spring for $8K.
