Hello everyone, hope your Thanksgiving Day weekend has been great.
I'm trying to determine why my MAP sensor is constantly showing 14.6 - 14.7 psi on AE, yet I'm not getting any error codes or sensor faults. I have verified that that the little hose connecting the sensor to the spider is clear and not leaking, and even verified that the there is certainly pressure within that hose.
The electrical connection looks good, and when disconnected I do get the error code on AE. The truck doesn't run great, but it's certainly getting some amount of boost. Just like to know if there's anything else I could be overlooking before I drop $100 on a new sensor.
Also, any recommendations on MAP sensors, are they finicky like the CPS sensors?
You could apply various amounts of regulated air to the MAP sensor and look for changes in the readings on your AE. I'm not sure what years were affected, but I read some years ago about the sealant inside the sensor softening and blocking the port.
