Mornin all and hope ya had a fattening thanksgiving. My local pick and pay NEVER has a dent with good seats in it or even up to the 96's. I would like to upgrade my seats and can't and of course the seatcovers are uber high, so what has anyone else made fit that wasn't a major fit up chore. And would you be willing to share info on how you did it? Thanks a lot, John
Is taking your current seat to an upholstery shop to high too?
You can get pretty much anything to fit with a tape measure, welder, some bar stock metal (1" square tubing) and a chop saw (for the bar stock, not the seat). lol
I think the biggest issue with newer Ford seats is the height of the mount legs, when trying to do a direct bolt in.
I picked up a saddle blanket seat cover from LMC several years ago and have been happy with it ever since. I don't think it was over $50. Just another option if cost is a concern.
Just a thought...i have a standard cab '79, but put a splitback seat from a crewcab '79 in it. Makes it convient when getting stuff from behind the seat. I found mine on Craigslist from an upholstery shop, $150, with extra padding
