You can only get 4.10s in an FX4 with the Ecoboost.
That blows you can't order an FX with a 5.0 & 4.10's, Ford must have figured that combination would have either made the 5.0 too thirsty or too competitive with the EcoBoost, otherwise robbing sales.
While I love my EcoBoost a lot more than my previous 5.0/3.55 truck. I would have no doubt choose a 5.0, FX4, 157" Screw if I could have got it with 4.10's. yes I realize I could have added 4.10's aftermarket, but the cost is roughly the same as the up charge for an Ecoboost with 3.73's so moot point at that point.

I was surprised when I was playing around on the "Build a 2014 F150" site. I was trying to build a FX4 with the 6.2 engine with 4.10s. Every time I would choose the 4.10 gears it would swap back me to the Ecoboost engine.

Right. Every time I think about the engine choices for the F-150, I completely forget about the 6.2. But yeah, 6.2 & 4.10's would be beastly. I mean in all seriousness that's what the Tremor should have been, probably a real successor to the Lightning.
