Do they get different spring rates or shocks as well?

Basically, it gets a sportier look than the XLT and the off-road package which is the upgraded shocks. You can basically get the same truck in an XLT with off-road package. I just couldn't turn down the FX4 trims.

Now Ford offers a 400A package. 401A and 402A.
400A is basic. Shifter for AT on column, split bench front seat. 18" wheels no extras.
I picked up the 401A because it has better trim on the inside with shifter in the middle, moonroof, and 20" wheels. I'm a sucker, I know!

You will prob learn more from the pros on this forum, I'm a beginner but hope this puts it into a few simple buying options that observed when making my decision.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Forgot to add:
The 402A package is loaded with the leather heated seats, HID headlights which I wanted but sacrificed, and ever other option available.

Stangfire ... What exactly is the FX4 package?
FX is a trim designation and the 4 signifies 4-wheel drive. *Versus 2 - 2-wheel (rear) drive.

As for "package" you may be (???) referring to the (optional) appearance package for the FX ...

You have all been helpful. I mostly want the console with floor shift. It's hard to find a used XLT with that.

Don't quote me on it, but I don't think you can have floor-shift and XLT. I know you can have the flow through console, or the 1/2 console I think it's called. This is the console that has the cubby and cup holder but doesn't attach to the dash like on the FX4 401 & 402 packages.

As funny as this sounds, I love my flow through console on my '13 FX4, but miss my column shift, with the selectable manual gears on the stalk.

Using the manual gear feature on the console shift, puts the buttons in a really awkward position. Truthfully, I really, and I mean really wish Ford would have adopted paddle shifters on this truck by now.

Well that would make sense why I can't find an XLT with floor shift/console. I've seen the 1/2 consoles.

I really like the full console. I hate the fold down massive arm rest middle seat back thing. I have it in my current F150 and I don't think I have ever had a 3rd person in the front.

Other thing that should be standard on a $52k truck, are keyless entry and push button start. (Not even avail on Platinum, Limited or KR at the least)

My wife's $31k (paid $29k) '13 Subaru Outback Limited has keyless start & unlock, and I can't for the life of me figure out why my fully loaded '13 FX4 doesn't have this. It is such an awesome feature when you have your hands full and walking up to the truck.

The push start also is awesome, makes that process one step, plus you don't have to worry about fumbling a key.

While you still have to "fumble" (?????) with a key, you already have "push start". It's simply a matter of turning the key to the start position and immediately release it - no need to hold it in that position for the cranking and start to happen.

What I like about my wife's car is, you keep the key in your pocket, as soon as you touch the door handle the car unlocks the door for you. Next all you have to do is push the start button and your off. All the while having the key in your pocket.

Would love that on my truck a lot. I hate having to dig the key out of my pant pocket. Then push the the unlock on the key fob. (Yeah I realize I could use the keypad too) then once in the truck use the key to start up the truck.

Just seems like old tech, when most vehicles costing a lot less than these F-150's feature keyless.

Does the FX4 still come standard with 3.73? My 2010 only had 3.73 available.
