computer box under seat?

Okay guys I'm working on restoring a 1983 F-250 4x4. The truck is a XLT with all options and was originally a 351, 4 speed. My question is what does the computer box under the driver side seat control?

I believe that box was used on certain 351W's, with DS3 (IIRC) ignition systems.

I was thinking it had something to do with ignition. I believe it might even say ignition on one part of the plug. I'm trying to figure out if it worked anything else like cruise control.

The EEC boxes control operation of the engine only and nothing more.

Good deal that's what I was thinking. All the wires are cut under the cab so I'll just remove it if it won't interfier with any other operations.

If the 83 is like 49-state 82's the wiring for the computer was completely separate from the other wiring. And, the computer had its own sensors and relays. So all that can be taken out w/o effecting the rest of the engine's wiring. Anything the computer wires to, like the relays on the valve covers, the timing sensor on the crank, its own temp and oil pressure sensors, and manifold pressure sensor can be removed as well as the associated wiring.

Thanks for the help everyone. I'll just delete it then since I'm going with a different engine.
