BW1356 (elec)

can this transfercase be use in a stand alone mode or does it need to go thru the EEC

I don't think it uses the ECC but it uses a separate control box I think.

My 87 Ranger had i think a 13-45 case (elec) and it had a separate computer box in the top of the dash. I'm not sure where it would be on a fullsize but I would assume that its the same kind of setup with a stand alone 4x4 control box.
