I had them done at the dealer at 99k. They told me I needed new ones again at 160k. I called NS and asked for the old ones to see what they looked like.

I'm confused because two were broken.

I thought Ford redesigned the plugs, so why would they break again? Did they not replace all of them last time?

Do I have any chance of talking to the service manager about having to do this at 100k and then again at 160k and get some money back? $1000 for two spark plug changes is ridiculous? Shouldn't it be covered for more than 60k miles??

I do not think the ford stock plugs were re-designed only the Champion plugs.

 

I have 125,000K on my Champion plugs had a few out at 100,000 they were all still in great shape

 

The OEM plugs are supposed to last for 100K miles.

 

But are dealer installed plugs supposed to last 100K and will the dealer cover that under warranty?

 

If the dealer used OEM plugs like they're supposed to, then they should last 100K miles 99% of the time. If they do not, then you will have to see the warranty terms for your dealer that changed the spark plugs. Often those terms are on the back of your invoice for the work performed. Those terms might have a time duration limit like 90 days, a mileage limit like 12K miles, or both. I don't think any place is going to guarantee spark plugs for 100K miles.
