keyless entry

I have a 2002 explorer that the keyless entry does not work replaced the battery in the remote and still dont work,tried to reprogram the remote but wont reprogram when I go through the steps it wont go into program mode, is this possible a computer problem or what Im lost

Do you know someone else with a Ford remote? Or possibly you could take it to the dealer and if they have a remote laying around, they could try to put it in program mode with their remote. You would know then if it is a problem with your remote or the truck.

My local Ford dealer is fairly open and friendly when it comes to stuff like this.

I have another remote but car wil not go to program mode when I try to turn key on and off 8 times,door locks work by buttons inside,have been having erratic problems as in having to push buttons on trmote several times so when it stopped altogether I thought it might be the battery but put in new battery and would not work tried to reprogram but could not get car to go to program mode

If it's important to you, you will probably have to pay $75 or whatever it is now, to have the dealer hook their scanner to it and see what's happening.
