Ok, i replaced all of my injectors with remans from swamps, i had an AE injector in the #8 hole, but, i replaced all my sticks with AD's. I installed a FRX and HPX from riff raff, my question; do i need to re-flash my PCM to accommodate for the AD replacing the AE?

Stock remans I'm assuming?
We've had 4 customers including Justin recently replace all their injectors with stock AD's. All had a low rpm or idle knock. The AE long lead was ford's fix for cackle. I would get an AE for #8.
To you question-staying with stock split shot injectors you will be fine with the tunes you have. Only issue you will have is idle knock with an AD in #8.

The FRx should help with idle knock, but a better fix is the Hutch mod (link is in my signature).
Helpful, but it won't eliminate the idle knock.
Jody did every thing back in 2003 on his 2002 truck to try and fix the idle knock after doing the same thing the OP did including your suggestion. He did the same to my old Excursion at first, still had knock.
Truthfully, going to single shots is the best cure for cackle or replace the AD he got for #8 with an AE.

Now this suprises me. I thought FRx took care of the need for an AE in #8. And the Hutch mod worked to quiet all the injectors including #8 by feeding them air-free fuel.
Single shots as the best cure for cackle sounds like a good plan anyway, as AC's are readily available.

Didn't help our trucks and several customers trucks. Off chance, maybe?
I am OCD and would rather do things once than try 3 things to accomplish the same task. Yes, I am boring!

ok....1st off, yes, stock remans, i went with all AD sticks because when international/navistar built the engine, they used AD's, then ford come up with the AE as a fix for the sound/cackle the #8 makes since it is on a dead end for fuel. the cackle doesn't harm the engine in any way, it's just a noise. Is this right or am i missing something? 2nd... i have a kit for the hutch mod, haven't had time to install yet... After i installed everything, it quieted the truck down ALOT, it was actually kinda scary.... but it is a little louder now with about 500 miles down since the install, it's like i can really hear the solenoids clicking but not the engine running if that makes sense at all.... will the hutch mod help with making it even more quiet?

Correct. It's just a different sound and only observable at idle. My '99 has eight AD injectors that were original to the engine. I get the cackle from time to time, it used to freak me out at first but now I have gotten used to it. Almost 320k miles on that truck so far and the engine runs great.

Only if there is a problem with the fuel delivery system. The stock system has been known to allow air to mix with the fuel when one or more components aren't working properly. A perfectly working stock system should have little or no air in the fuel. A quick check is to connect a clear tube to the lower test port on the fuel bowl, start the engine and see what the fuel looks like that comes out. If you see bubbles then you have a problem. Don't check at the FPR because that is the high point of the system and designed to purge air and fuel back to the tank.

Yep, this is true. I even went with brand new (non-reman) injectors, and I still experienced the low RPM knock with an AD in #8.

I have both of these modifications done, and the knock was still there.
